Lion Jeffrey’s Vision and Goals:

·        Grow District Membership through Community Service Projects and applying new ideas

·        Use more Social Media to communicate with our communities

·        Develop new Leaders in our clubs

·        Partnership of clubs to do larger projects

·        Make our Convention a destination more Lions will want to attend

Background and Qualifications:

Lion Jeffrey was inducted as a member of the Mississauga Central Lions Club in May of 2006.  In his first year he was appointed Campaign Chair for SightFirst II for Zone 6A. 

In his first year as a Lion he took on the role of Club Secretary and in April 2008 he was elected to his first of three terms as Club President.   Jeffrey has continuously been involved in all activities within his club.  He helps with management of our Lions Farmers Market, taking shifts for Bingos as well leading several other club projects.

He served as Zone 6A Chair in 2009-2010, followed by two years as Region 6 Chair 2010 through 2012.

Lion Jeffrey is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

Certifications and Awards:

·         Lion Jeffrey received an Extension Award Certificate for in 2007 for sponsoring the Mississauga Leo Club.  In 2014-2015 Lion Jeffrey worked with students at Sheridan College Mississauga to start another Leo Club on campus.

·         Graduate of the Lions Senior Leadership Institute in October 2008. 

·         Achieved his Certified Guiding Lion designation in October 2009

·         Has attended four annual USA/Canada Leadership forums.  In September 2009 he received a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his valuable contribution to the Forum as Speaker.

·         In 2010 he received a Lions Club International President Certificate of Accomplishment as a District Lions International Relations Chairperson.

·         In the same year he received a Lions club International Foundation Certificate of Appreciation from PIP Lion Al Brandel “In recognition of generous support to LCIF for Haiti”.  This resulted from fundraising efforts he coordinated in Square One Shopping Centre with multiple clubs participating, which raised over $22,000.00

·         In 2010-2011 PDG Lion Bill Speck presented Jeffrey with a Certificate of Appreciation

·         In November 2011 he completed the MD”A” Club Excellence Process (CEP) Facilitators Workshop.  Subsequently he has been a facilitator in CEP processes in six district clubs.

·         In Lions year 2012-2013 he received an International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation “in recognition of distinguished achievements in fulfilling the mission of Lions Clubs”  PDG Sam Dako also gave him a Certificate of Achievement in sincere appreciation of service as District Sight Chairperson.

·         In LY 2013-2014 Lion Jeffrey received an engraved Crystal from then DG Lion Peter Hammond and in LY 2014-2015 he received a handmade Gavel from DG Lion Don Bissonnette.

Lions Project Involvement:

·         Lion Jeffrey has been a member of the organizing committee for the annual Mississauga Walk for Dog Guides annually since 2009.  He has chaired this event in 3 of those years.

·         He has run a Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest within Mississauga annually since 2012.

·         Lion Jeffrey runs a Reading Action Program in the club which has donated funds which have supported ten schools, facilitating acquisition of over 525 books for their school libraries.

·         Has promoted the Trillium Gift of Life Beadonor Program since 2012.  He setup a District Beadonor website in 2013 which has seen 814 visitors towards a goal of 1000 in 3 years.  For the last several years he has served as a member of our District Gift of Life committee.

·         Started a Recycle for Sight project in his club in 2010.  By the end of 2010 he had 20 collection locations, which have since grown his 60 locations.  In 2012 Lion Jeffrey took on the role of District Recycle for Sight Coordinator; to determine how many clubs in the District participate in this project, to grow the number of participating clubs, and to promote their collection locations so that we may collect more and serve more people in need of glasses.  He had a website setup for this project: www.recycleforsight.ca to make it easier for the public to locate donation points.  There are currently 193 public sites listed representing 24 active clubs’ locations.  He is now welcoming listings by other participating clubs across Canada.  Largest accomplishment: to date has been coordinating Luxottica Retail Group’s donation of 118,800 pairs of used eyewear collected through their stores nationally.

·         Lion Jeffrey was a member of the Global Membership Team under PDG Lion Bill Allison and PDG Lion Rollie Dela Cruz from 2010 through 2014.

·         He coordinated booths at the Canadian National Exhibition and the Mississauga Carassauga Festival of Cultures in 2013, 2014 and 2015 in pursuit of raising the visibility of Lionism and gaining members. 

Personal: Jeffrey has an Internet business. He has been married to Lynn for 36 years; they have 3 married sons and 4 grandchildren.
